Another white by product, the Greeks and Italians had they hand on this before black people got anywhere near it. De Lasanis is basically lasagna without sauce, this is first recipe of mac & cheese in a cookbook called the form of cury in the 1400's. But the Italians had they own version of mac & cheese in the 1300's liber de coquia. James Hemmings was the half sibling to Martha Jefferson who married to Thomas Jefferson 3rd president. James Hemmings traveled with president Jefferson but once in France he trained with chefs for five years in turn mastering French cuisine. He got nice at macaroni pie. all the elements of mac & cheese in a dutch oven placed on an open flame then charcoal is placed on top of the dutch oven. Hench Mac & Cheese!!!!
